If you do not know your Gucci from your Prada, or even know that Dolce & Gabanna is a fashion brand, then it is possible that the name Armani means nothing to you. However this is doubtful because even you have no interest in fashion, Armani has grown to be one of the most recognisable brands in the world, with its products being worn by film stars, singers and politicians alike.
Its name goes hand in hand with quality and sophistication and its wide range of products, from shoes, watches, clothing, cosmetics and other accessories sees the company make amonst USD$2 billion each year despite its
relatively small workforce.
Based in Italy and founded by Giorgio Armani and Sergio Galeotti in 1975, Armani has grown to not only represent high-class fashion, but also luxury be it in a chain of hotels or restaurants and nightclubs. The company also has several sub-companies including Armani Collezioni that is a high-end clothing line and Emporio Armani that sells ready-to-wear items and accessories.
Armani Exchange is best known in the US for its eye catching ad campaigns and for its influence within celebrity culture. Possibly the most accessible brand in Armani’s arsenal of chains, Armani Exchange has over 178 stores nationwide with new units expected to open in Canada later in the year.
Currently looking at expanding itself with a range of luxury resorts around the world, the Armani brand is constantly growing and looks set to continue to be a trendsetter in terms of fashion and style.
